Tufts University School of Medicine

Hi! My name is Divya Subramanian and I'm a first-year MD candidate at Tufts University School of Medicine. I graduated a year early from the University of Connecticut, where I majored in Physiology and Neurobiology. I worked on various research projects during my undergrad years and gap years and recently published a manuscript in women's health. Eager to gain life experience after graduating college, I spent three years working in healthcare settings and doing research. I became interested in serving vulnerable populations because of the experiences I had working with such communities during my gap years. My close interactions with underserved patients inspired me to work with organizations that aim to dismantle the systemic barriers to healthcare that many in our country face. Some other facts about me: I'm an Indian-American cis female, a first-generation medical student, and a Gryffindor (also a huge Harry Potter fan). In my free time, I like reading, watching Netflix, and just spending time with my family.
