Jennifer Wang

Keck School of Medicine at USC

Hey there! My name is Jennifer, and I am a second year medical student at the Keck School of Medicine at USC. I grew up in San Diego and attended college at the University of Chicago, where I majored in Biology. During my time in college, I tutored students attending local Chicago public schools and volunteered at the children’s hospital.

I took two gap years between graduating college and starting medical school. During my gap years, I was a teaching assistant and a tutor. I enjoy interacting with and working with people, so I found these experiences to be particularly rewarding! In addition to my teaching assistant and tutoring experience, I also worked as a recovery coach at a mental health rehabilitation clinic. This was also a particularly meaningful experience for me, as I deeply value improving and shedding light on wellness and mental health and working with populations that are often marginalized and underserved.

Outside of academics and work, I enjoy cooking, baking, doing yoga, reading, and dancing (though I am pretty mediocre at all of these things… but I still have fun!)

I am currently in medical school, and I really enjoy it so far! A big highlight for me are the people I met at school. I really treasure the connections and relationships I form with people, and I hope to be able to support you and help you along your journey to entering medical school!
